My wife and I met up with a couple who were long standing friends. We meet up several times a year at different locations as we live over 200 miles from each other. The Oakover guest house is one of the best places we have stayed. The location in Weston-super -mare is ideal. The whole place is extremely clean, tastefully decorated, great rooms with nice little extra s like cotton buds, facial wipes etc. Great breakfast choices and very well cooked. We messed up our breakfast time on the Monday (late) but they still cooked for us. We were greeted with a very friendly welcome and all the staff were helpful and friendly. I was a bit concerned about the 2.1 metres gap to get my car through to park my car. But, my Range Rover just got through. I would highly recommend the Oakover.

We had an excellent long weekend stay here in a king size room in July. It was great to have enough milk, tea and coffee to make plenty of drinks with as often this is something I end up asking for extras off. There was also a handy fridge, much appreciated as it was a hot weekend.Breakfast had a great choice of fresh fruit, yoghurt or cereals to start. There were plenty of options for the cooked breakfast choice which was very tasty and well presented in a relaxed atmosphere. Great to have a little car park at the back. Modern decor, clean and tidy with lovely friendly staff. One of the best places we have stayed in Weston.Thank you Simon and crew!

Guest House is clean and comfortable. Breakfast ample and freshly prepared. Spa bath in Room 2 is bliss!Unfortunately, the entrance to the car park is very narrow. Our car was scraped quite badly on leaving. There is a warning about this on the website, but it only appears when payment has been taken!Ideal place to stay for older people arriving by train, being close enough to the station.
Hi Melinda, thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay at Oakover. We are sorry if your car was scratched but although the driveway looks narrow it is 2.1meters at it\'s narrowest point, wide enough to accommodate a Range Rover!A warning about this is available on the website whether or not you have paid!Best wishes & kind regards, Simon Robinson.

Simon was a welcoming host. The accommodation is in an ideal spot, just a short walk from the sea front and town centre. The room was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was great. The only improvements I can think of would have been to keep some blankets in the room as it was chilly at night, and to get some blackout curtains for the rooms at the front as there was a street light outside our window.Otherwise, we had a great stay and would recommend Oakover. Private parking and tea and biscuits in our room were also a bonus. Thanks, Simon!

A great find in Weston Super Mare. Our room, although very compact, was all we needed to have a great couple of night sleep while in WSM. Simon was a great host and very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and cosy and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and kept you going for most of the day. Although, felt the cooked breakfast was pre-pared then reheated. Also felt the timing for breakfast was a bit restrictive.Would stay here again though.

Spent Friday and Saturday nights at this guesthouse which is just a couple of minutes walk from the seafront, and just a few minutes more to all the bars and restaurants near the town centre. It was great to be able to leave the car parked and walk everywhere, and of you want to go a little further without the car the buses are frequent all around the B&B.The room we were allocated was a ground floor room with a Queen bed ( 2 beds zipped together), which was fine. There was a sofa in the room, so no having to sit up on the bed! The room was quite big, light and airy with en suite bathroom. There is a small fridge inside the built in wardrobe ( we had to turn it up as was on lowest setting).Need was comfy, if a little soft for our taste but we both slept well as it was really quite.Very nice breakfast room, and breakfast itself was very good, the usual you would expect, I actually had a healthy breakfast on the 2nd morning, the strawberries are enormous! We never saw Simon, the proprietor but was met by Hanging who checked us in, as Simon was out.I saw a few people over the weekend ring the bell for the proprietor who was in attendance promptly each time. One thing to note, there is parking at the property, at the rear but it is very tight to drive down between the buildings, OK of you have a small car (Citroen C4), no chance in 4x4.I think he does mention vehicle dimensions on the website.Overall we enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse and would definitely return, which we may well be doing before the summer's end!

lovely guest house in a very convenient location for getting around weston-super-mare.breakfast is freshly cooked to order and delicious with a good selection of hot and cold food.the room was exceptionally clean and modern with a flat screen tv and a lovely big corner bath with a shower above. very quiet at night never heard any other guests at all. Simon and Yanti were both very friendly although we never saw Yanti much as she was always busy in the kitchen or cleaning the rooms. would definitely recommend and would stay again if visiting.

A very comfortable stay with a clean and well equipped room.Roll top bath in the room with a view out of the window and of the TV great, just make sure the nets are pulled and you have your towel ready when you stand up to avoid scaring the locals.Well hosted and looked after during my stayWould certainly recommend and will use again myself if working in the area or if traveling with my wife for leisure.

The Oakover Guest House is one of the cleanest B&B's we have stayed in.Excellent room facilities.Friendly hosts.Fantastic breakfast with good quality produce. The only negative is the car park if you have a vehicle wider than a normal sized car you would never fit down the alley to get to the car park.I feel this should be made clear on their information as a car can only just fit down the alley.
Hi Diane, thank you so much for staying with us and for your helpful feedback and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us.Regarding the parking, our website & our Booking.com page do explain that although parking is available access is narrow due to the house dating back to 1890, however I will make sure I change this so that it is more prominent..At it\'s narrowest point the driveway is 2.1m so although tight, it is wide enough for most cars to access.Best wishes, Yanti & Simon.

We had a very comfortable room, very well provisioned, and ate excellent breakfasts. With the promenade very near in one direction, and the ubiquitous Number 7 bus equally near in the opposite, we didn't need to move our car, which was good, as the parking is certainly challenging.

We were visiting relatives in the area and needed a convenient place to stay. Oakover provided that and more.We had the ground floor king-sized room which was spacious and newly decorated.Breakfasts were cooked-to-order and delicious. Fresh berries for cereal were an added bonus. The only negative we can mention is the fact that it was very difficult to park our large car (VW Tiguan) as the entrance to the parking area is very narrow. The host kindly gave his his spot in the front (for handicapped) but that, still, was a tight squeeze.

The bed was very comfortable. The room and breakfast room was very tastfully decorated. It was very warm in the room at night and the fan came very handy. We had two small bottles of water left in our room every day.We did manage to park at the back of the building but it was very narrow at the side to get to it,but we have got a ford fiesta,so it was not that bad.The breakfast was amazing, plenty to eat good selection, lasted us till tea time.We will stay there again definitely.

This was our first stay at Oakover and we would recommend it. Room very clean with every amenity we needed including free wi-fi and a large built in wardrobe that held all our clothes without them being squashed in. Breakfasts were delicious, with loads of choice. Yanti and Simon are the perfect hosts. There is a car park at the back which is much needed as there isn't a lot of parking space on the road. The only thing is that the drive isn't very wide. We have a Ford focus estate and we only just managed to fit down the drive by folding the door mirrors in. A wider car wouldn't have got down the drive.

This was our first stay in a guest house for many years and could not have been more pleasantly surprised, Room and facilities were excellent, breakfast as good if not better than most, little extras in the bathroom, clean, well decorated, this 1800s building is beautiful, the ceilings are original and so well preserved, well positioned small walk to the town. We had a downstairs room which was great, if there was any drawback it would be the access to the carparking the driveway is exceptionally tight I have a Mazda 3 and I just got through breathing in. Ha. But overall certainly well worth the visit, we are lucky enough to go on a lot of cruise ships so are spoiled a bit, but these guys are well up there WELL DONE Yanti and Simon. Thank You all for a very enjoyable visit.

I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail and extras that are provided in the room, even down to a sewing kit provided for when that unexpected button comes off! When we arrived at Oakover we were welcomed by the owners and told what the guest house had to offer. The rooms were lovely and we had a lovely stay for my 21st! We are already looking at coming back later in the year. Thank you for a lovely and welcoming weekend.

Breakfast was very nice and do not think anyone would have gone out of there feeling hungry as we never. The owners were great as nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Well decorated, all the best was there. Hope to return again very soon.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few nights over the halloween weekend. Lovely stay, couldnt fault it. We had room 6, very clean and fresh.Lovely decor. Yanti made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in. We never normally stay in B&B's, i've always been put off, but this one has changed my view on things. The drive and parking is tight, I did wack my wing mirror on the wall arriving, but didnt seem to be an issue as never really had to drive anywhere. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Stayed two nights in Room 2, the luxury spa room. The room was clean and well presented and quite spacious. The bathroom was lovely although having the extractor fan come on every time you put the light on was slightly annoying, well until I found the isolator switch in the ceiling could be reached with a hairbrush. The bed was firm and comfortable and the room was quiet. The breakfast room was nicely laid out and a good selection of breakfasts available and tailored to individualneeds. However, I ordered the kippers and poached egg and was disappointed to be served one small kipper and one poached egg. The whole portion would not have covered a slice of bread. It was cooked beautifully, just way to small. I had the full English the following morning which was excellent. The owners are extremely friendly and we received a warm welcome on arrival. Being able to check in at 11am is a stroke of genius, giving us the chance to unpack and then walk into town for lunch.Overall we had a great weekend in Weston and would recommend Oakover to everyone.Just as a side note...."Mature couple"? We're late 40's just not married.

Lovely room (Number 5) and delicious breakfasts, we were really comfy and had everything we could have wished for. Location fantastic for wandering into town, and to have free parking was wonderful. Only slight niggle was the shower, as the temperature was tricky to adjust and it wasn't terribly powerful. But this was hardly a deal breaker! Thanks very much for a great time.

We had a very warm welcome from Mark. Room was amazing and spotless. Bed was huge and comfortable and the bathroom was a nice size. Breakfast was very good. I could recommend this guest house to any one without a second thought. Book this guest house if you are thinking of going to Weston-Super- mare. This is by far the bestthat we have stayed at. Had a fantastic stay here. Diane welcomed us and took the time to enquire if we knew the area and to let her know if we needed any advise about the surrounding area, also if we had any other issues. The room was well laid out, very clean and excellent facilities, added extras in the bathroom/room to make your stay more welcoming. The entrance to the car park is quite narrow, however wide enough for your average car. Just a short walk to the sea front opposite the Tropicana. Very good selection of choice of breakfast. Thank you Diane and Mark, we will visiting you again.

Great location a couple of minutes from the seafront.Very good Indian five mins away so no need to drive! But other good restaurants like the Tarantello (you get 10% discount showing the Oakover's room key) a few mins drive.Room excellent, huge bed, very comfortable.Breakfasts great, my vegetarian wife loved them. They have their own parking down a narrow passage but not a problem.Owners very friendly and clearly want their guests to have a really enjoyable time.(We looked at the Premier Inn on the seafront - £125 more for three nights B&B and you had to use a nearby pay car park. And of course not the personal attention.)Can only say five stars and thoroughly recommended.

Booked via Booking.com so got a double room rate, which I was happy with.Think its best to book direct as we had room 6 which was lovely, very clean and well presented - but a small double. If I had booked direct with Diane at Oakover I'm sure she would have advised me of it's size as they are very transparent and open and do everything possible to make it a pleasant and comfortable stay. The guest house is beautifully decorated and presented throughout, breakfast is lovely - the full English is lovely and the scrambled egg the best I've had.I don't want to be negative because it was so lovely, but I would ensure I didn't book room 6 (only based on its small size).I would definitely recommend and I would stay again.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at Oakover and have to say that it can't be faulted. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor and found it most comfortable and spotless and also had the luxury of a 6ft bed that was very comfortable. Breakfasts were consistently very good every morning and the owners were very friendly and helpful. If we come back to Weston again we would not hesitate to stay here again. If I had 1 criticism it would be the very narrow drive to the car park, which is only just wide enough for most cars but if taken with care it can be done.

We were really excited but nervous to get away as it was our first night away from the children since my first was born. and we were not disappointed. The room was just as pictured and it was lovely. it was clean, spacey, had great tea/coffee facilities. amazing bath tub, big and roomy. Also in the cupboard was a mini fridge, fan, chairs, iron and board which would of been great if we stayed longer. service was excellent, very pleasant and polite and standards of breakfast was great. everything kept fresh and had a great variety of choice. my only little niggle was that the bed in the room was a bit noisy when moving in it, but I slept fine. lovely place to stay !!

Could not fault our stay at oakover. Had the kingsize bed and it was really comfortable. Everything we needed clean and spacious. Our room was ready on arrival at 11.00am. Breakfast was excellent. It was very cold when we stayed but the heating was left on and was up to us to control it with the thermostat. Short walk itno weston town centre so is ideal location. We stayed at oakover about 7 years ago. Will definatly be going back to oakover this year and my parents have asked for the phone number to book overnight stay here. The only downside is the drive, which is very narrow.

Booked in at Oakover guest house as it was near a venue some friends were playing at, what a great choice, welcoming hosts spotlessly clean, ground floor room we had was a bit small, but this was because an on-suite shower, toilet had been installed so it was worth it. Breakfast was excellent vast choice form Bacon sandwich to the full English with many variations in between, including kippers and an offer of hard or soft boiled eggs (did not get chance to test this claim)Would definitely book again an recommend highly. Thanks for a great stay Colin &Yvonne

As previous visits, the welcome is warm and the hosts are willing to assist with reasonable requests. Prices are competitive and breakfasts pleasing. We chose the smallest and cheapest room as it was for 1 night only and we were dining out. Room is well appointed with some extra touches to enhance your comfort. Only negative is that it is small. ok for this occasion, but not for a longer stay or if you are tall.

We found the Oakover to be very stylish and comfortable. We stayed in Room 1 with the beds made up to a Super King Size. plenty of room, bed very comfortable, clean &stylish decor. The mini-fridge was OK, but realy only for stopping things from getting warmern than cooling them. Bathroom, especailly the shower, was a bit of a squeeze, but neither of these detracted fom our stay. Lot's of choice for breakfast which was of excellen quality (and quantity) and quickly and pleasantly served. All in all - a very pleasant stay. The bottom line is that I'd go back to stay there in future.

What a fantastic guest house! Great location, about a 5-10 minute walk along the seafront to the town, and with parking available. The guest house was beautiful, very modern and clean and tidy. We had the bedroom with the feature bath within the room,a lovely touch. There was everything you could ask for in the bedroom, and their information booklet was excellent. Breakfast was lovely, with a very wide selection of foods to choose from,i had kippers two mornings running, lovely! To top it all off,the owners were lovely,so helpful and kind, even cooking me a bacon toastie to take up to my partner one morning when he didn't feel like coming down for breakfast,a thoughtful touch. We will definitely be back to stay again soon. Thankyou,Tracy and Dave x

We have been to Weston a number of times but this was our 1st stay at the Oakover Guest House. I had booked the basic room and found the price reasonable, when we arrived we were given a warm welcome and shown to our room which was very clean and tidy and had everything you need. After a few hours I decided to ask could I upgrade as I fancied a bigger room I spoke to Diane who was really helpful and showed me romm number 3...WOW what a room. I paid and extra £20 to upgrade wich was £10 per night for two of us I thought this was really reasonable, we really enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was really nice not to much just right. The whole place was lovely clean and the satff really helpful. The only negative thing was we went out for a walk and when we got back the heating was not on and the room was a little cold, not a bad point as it did soom warm up but just wanted to give an honest review. For some reason it wont let me click a star rating so I will put my rating here, I would happily recommend the Oakover and give it a **** 4 star rating.

My partner and I wanted to get away for some rest and relaxation for a few days, following a difficult couple of months, and having decided upon Somerset, we trawled TripAdvisor for some inspiration. Thankfully we found the fantastic reviews for the Oakover and were immediately attracted to the beautifully modern decor. Seeing Room 3 hosted a feature bath in the bedroom sealed the deal for us and we were certainly not disappointed.Although we only stayed for four nights, our every need was catered for. The room was gorgeous and extremely clean and tidy, with both myself and my partner enjoying the feel of thick pile carpet under our feet. The complimentary tea tray was brimming with goodies, and the bottles of water were a very welcome added extra that many other guesthouses overlook. This was one of many little 'perks' we noticed about the Oakover which other places neglect to consider:- cotton wool balls and buds in the bathroom, ironing board and umbrella in the wardrobe, shaving plug adaptor on the shelf. Obviously a lot of thought about the comfort of the guests goes into designing the rooms at the Oakover.Breakfast was scrumptious, and we particularly liked that we could order our choice in the morning to be freshly cooked rather than placing our orders the night before and hoping we wouldn't change our minds. There was more than enough choice with cereals, fruit, yoghurts, juice followed by a cooked breakfast of our choice and more than enough tea and coffee. The owners cannot do enough to make sure you're happy and were extremely polite without being overbearing or imposing.Overall, both me and my partner were extremely happy to have opted for the Oakover and loved staying in such a stylish, modern and helpful "home away from home". We would certainly recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for a b&b in Weston-Super-Mare within 10mins walking distance to the town. Fantastic!

Only 2 words are required to describe ALL aspects (including staff)of Oakover Guest House. These are "ABSOLUTELY LOVELY"! Not only stylish, fresh, immaculate decor, but Oakover has a car park space for each of its rooms i.e.6. How many Guest Houses in Weston does that apply? But although you get Rolls Royce service at Oakover, don't try to get a Rolls Royce sized car down the driveway. It won't fit!! Most normal cars should fit. A most enjoyable stay and highly recommended!

This Guest House was absolutely perfect! Not far from the beach and pier, beautiful room with a big TV, comfy bed and lovely feature bath. Everything was spotless and there was plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits as well as other useful extras hidden in the wardrobe such as an ironing board and iron, fold-up chairs and a mini fridge. The choice and quality of breakfast was also brilliant. We will definitely be returning! Thank you!

Very good in every way from the room to the breakfast and the staff.Would stay here again for sure.Only reason ive give 4 instead of 5 stars is the fact its a fair walk from the main town/pier/playhouse area. Not a problem in good weather as it would be a nice stroll along the seafront.
